About the Captain
Many years ago Captain Jim found his favorite estuary for fishing in Steinhatchee, Florida and his continued success has made him one of the most sought after Captains in Steinhatchee.
Captain Jim is licensed by the United States Coast Guard, and serves on the Coast Guard Emergency Response Team. He carries a 100 ton Master and Tow assist license.
Captain Jim spends hours pre-fishing and spotting, to give his clients the best fishing experience. When you weigh anchor with Captain Jim, you know for certain two things will happen: you WILL catch fish, and you WILL bring home some beautiful memories. He makes it his business to not only teach you about the marine habitat and estuaries, but offers you tips to make the catch of a lifetime!
He has been featured in industry publications, including Southern Living, The Miami Herald, The St. Petersburg Times, The Tampa Tribune, Bass Pro Shop’s, “Outdoor Site Library,” and many other publications throughout the United States and internationally. He has been featured in television shows in the Tampa, Orlando, and Daytona Beach areas.
He likes to say he is in the entertainment business—relieving the stress of his clients, helping a child catch their first fish, orchestrating families to bond together while fishing and scalloping, or showing friends that a day on the water is as close to heaven as you can get!
